Cooking method

  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make chicken, Korean carrot, and fresh cucumber salad? You can use frozen chicken fillet, but thaw it first at room temperature or in the microwave on the defrost setting. Then lower the chicken fillet into boiling water and cook for 30 minutes. Cool the cooked meat. The eggs for the salad also need to be boiled: cover them with cold water, bring to a boil, and cook for 8–9 minutes. Then drain the water and cool the eggs.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Wash and dry the cucumber for the salad. Trim off both ends. Taste it to make sure it isn't bitter. Use a roomy bowl so it's easy to toss the salad. Cut the cucumber lengthwise into 4 and then into small pieces, straight into the bowl.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Peel the boiled eggs, cut them up, and add them to the bowl with the cut cucumbers.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Cool the chicken fillet so it doesn't burn your hands. Then cut it into small pieces and add it to the salad bowl. You don't have to use boiled chicken in this salad. You can pan-fry it in pieces until golden, or use smoked chicken.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

You can use store-bought Korean carrots or make your own at home. Korean carrots are usually grated into long strips, so for a salad you can chop them up a bit. I prefer them in small pieces in the salad.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Add the Korean carrots to the salad bowl as well. Dress the salad with a little mayonnaise and toss.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Chill the finished salad in the fridge for a bit and transfer it to a suitable salad bowl before serving.

  8. Step 8:

    Enjoy!

  • The combination of ingredients in this salad may seem very simple, but they all complement each other so well that you'll want to make it again and again. Be sure to try it — it comes out very tasty!
  • It's better to make the mayonnaise yourself — it'll be tastier and healthier. See some interesting homemade mayonnaise recipes here. You can also use not just mayonnaise as a dressing but sour cream or plain yogurt. Use them on their own or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion you like — this lowers the dish's calorie count.
  • The salad looks neat and attractive if you cut all the ingredients into pieces of the same size and shape (cubes, for example).
  • How do you hard-boil eggs? To keep the eggs from cracking while they cook, put them in cold water and set them over low heat. Boil the eggs for 9 minutes after the water comes to a boil, then drain and cover with cold water to cool. The sudden temperature change makes the shells easier to peel.
