Cooking method
1. Cut a slice of white bread into cubes or small pieces of arbitrary shape. Instead of white bread, you can take a special toast (it is most convenient to cut it), a regular loaf or grain with bran. Bread can be of different types at will and individual preferences.
2. In a separate deep container (a bowl or an ordinary plate will do), break a chicken egg. Beat it well with a fork or a culinary whisk until smooth. To prepare one serving of toast, you will need half a chicken egg. Therefore, pour the remaining half of the egg mixture into another bowl - it can be used to prepare another dish or you can cook two portions of these wonderful sweet croutons at once.
3. Pour a little milk into a bowl with a beaten egg. Mix well again with a whisk until a fluffy foam forms.
4. In a small container, mix together ground cinnamon and sugar to taste. And then pour this mixture into a bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
5. For an even more pleasant taste and mouth-watering aroma, add a couple of drops of vanilla extract to the bowl. Vanilla extract can be replaced with vanilla sugar, vanilla or other flavoring.
6. Prepare a cup or other similar container that can be put in the microwave. Lubricate the inner surface of the cup with a small piece of butter on all sides.
7. Put the diced bread into a cup. Top everything with a mixture of eggs, milk, cinnamon and sugar. Press the bread into the inside of the cup with a fork and let it absorb the egg-milk mixture into itself.
8. Put the cup in the microwave first for one minute. Then take out the cup, mix the contents and continue to cook in the microwave until the liquid disappears - about half a minute more.
Serve such sweet croutons hot. If desired, you can pour honey or maple syrup over them. It's very tasty!
Bon appetit!
