Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 5 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make ayran from kefir? Very easy, fast and completely uncomplicated! From the equipment, you will only need a mixer or blender. First, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. It is very important that the water is drinkable, otherwise the drink may not have a very pleasant taste. It can be bottled water or boiled chilled.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pre-cool kefir and water in the refrigerator. Pour the cooled kefir into a deep bowl or a special bowl for whipping. Kefir is suitable for any, but with a fat content of at least 2.5%. With one percent kefir, the drink turns out not so delicious. And rather has only the smell of kefir, not the taste. Add salt and pour in cold water.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Thoroughly beat the mixture with a mixer at high speeds until a fluffy, stable foam appears and the salt is completely dissolved. Taste the drink and, if necessary, add more salt or, conversely, dilute it with water or kefir if it seemed very salty.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour homemade ayran into glasses, garnish with dill sprigs and serve immediately to the table while the foam lasts. If desired, you can finely chop the dill, add it directly to the drink and beat it with a mixer. Bon appetit!

If you want to make more portions of a drink, it's easy to calculate the right amount of ingredients. Take kefir and water in the same proportions 1:1. And add the amount of salt to taste.

Instead of kefir, you can use natural yogurt without additives.

For cooking, it is better to use filtered or bottled water that is neutral to taste. If you use tap water, keep in mind that it can give the dish an unpleasant characteristic taste.

Since the degree of salinity, sweetness, bitterness, sharpness, acid, burning is individual for everyone, always add spices, spices and seasonings, focusing on your taste! If you put some of the seasonings for the first time, then keep in mind that there are spices that it is especially important not to shift (for example, chili pepper).
