  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make ketchup and mayonnaise sauce? First, gather the ingredients. For the base, you can use any mayonnaise and ketchup you like, store-bought or homemade. Instead of ketchup you can use tomato paste, but then you'll need to add salt, paprika, and other spices to taste.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Combine the mayonnaise and ketchup in a bowl. I recommend using homemade mayonnaise at least. Your ketchup can be sweet or spicy - that's up to you.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Add all the spices. Mix well so the spices are evenly distributed. You should get a pink mixture. Mayonnaise and ketchup usually have enough salt and other spices in them. But it's best to taste the sauce and add what's needed. If you want a smoother mixture, use garlic powder instead of fresh garlic. That's what I do.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

The simplest ketchup and mayonnaise sauce with garlic is ready. You can use it on any sandwich, burgers for example. Or serve it with meat dishes, pasta, or vegetables. You can spread it on pizza before adding the toppings. It's also great added to meatballs when baking. Or just spread it on bread. (:

  • This is the simplest sauce, no cooking needed - all the ingredients are ready-made. So even a child can make it. It takes literally two minutes.
  • Store the sauce in a closed container in the fridge for 1-2 days. Better yet, use it right away, since it's not made to keep. If left uncovered, it forms a skin on top and partly loses its taste and aroma.
  • It's better to make the mayonnaise yourself - it'll be tastier and healthier. See some interesting homemade mayonnaise recipes here. You can also use sour cream or plain yogurt as a dressing instead of just mayonnaise. Use them on their own or mix them with mayonnaise in any proportion you like - this lowers the calorie count of the dish.
