Pea soup with smoked ham

Cooking method
Wash the peas, pour water and leave for 2-3 hours.
Drain the water, pour in the right amount of water again, put on fire and cook until tender (the peas will start to boil).
Cut the onion into thin half rings, grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Put it in a saucepan, mix.
Peel potatoes and cut into small pieces. Put it in a saucepan with the peas and vegetables.
Release the smoked ham from the bone, cut it.
When the water in the pan boils, add the meat. Add salt and pepper. Cook until the potatoes are ready.
Serve sprinkled with chopped fresh herbs to taste.
