Layered Jelly
A colorful, tasty dessert for kids and grown-ups alike! This layered jelly makes a wonderful dessert in hot summer weather. It comes out vibrant, with a rich flavor, and won't hurt your figure at all. Make it for the little ones and they'll be delighted!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Let's gather our simple ingredients. Use jelly in all kinds of colors for nice, vibrant layers. And of course we'll need boiling water.
-
Step 2:
Pour the dry jelly powder into separate dishes.
-
Step 3:
Check how much water the package calls for and use a little less — that way the layers set better. My package called for 400 ml of boiling water; I used 300 ml. Pour it in and stir thoroughly until all the granules dissolve.
-
Step 4:
It's best to make layered jelly in clear glasses so all the layers show nicely. I'm using tall clear glasses. Pour the layers in equal amounts — it'll look prettier in the end. I poured three spoonfuls into each glass. Pour the first layer and refrigerate it until fully set. There's no need to refrigerate the bowls of dissolved jelly — in fact it works in our favor, since the jelly cools down and each new layer sets faster.
-
Step 5:
Once the first layer is fully set, pour the second layer in a different color. You want the layers to contrast. Refrigerate again until fully set. Keep going with all the dissolved jelly, alternating layers. If the jelly in a bowl starts to set, you can microwave it for a couple of seconds on "defrost" and keep working with it.
-
Step 6:
In the end I got 9 colorful layers of delicious jelly! The flavors just burst in your mouth! Kids especially love this dessert — it's super bright, tasty, and you could even say good for you :)
-
Step 7:
Make it and enjoy — bon appétit!
- You can make as many layers as you like — the more, the more vibrant.
