Processed Cheese Rolls
A versatile, pretty, quick appetizer for a party! These cheese rolls look striking on a holiday table. You can also serve them as a buffet snack. Feel free to experiment with the filling. Your guests are sure to love how original they are.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you make processed cheese rolls? Gather all the ingredients. Processed cheese comes in ready-made slices — usually 8 to a package. Rinse the dill in water and dry it.
-
Step 2:
The eggs need to be boiled. Cover them with water, set the pot over the heat, and bring it to a boil. Boil them for 7–8 minutes. Then drain the hot water and cool the eggs in cold water. Peel the cooked eggs and separate the yolks from the whites.
-
Step 3:
Cut the ham into small cubes and transfer it to a small bowl you'll use to mix the filling.
-
Step 4:
Set the yolks aside — we'll need them for the garnish. Grate the egg whites. Add the grated white and finely chopped dill to the bowl of ham. Dress with mayonnaise and mix everything well.
-
Step 5:
Cut the pickle into strips.
-
Step 6:
Put a little filling and a strip of pickle on each cheese slice.
-
Step 7:
Roll the cheese up into a roll.
-
Step 8:
Grate the remaining egg yolk on a fine grater. Dip both ends of each roll lightly in mayonnaise, then in the grated yolk. Arrange the finished rolls on a platter and serve!
-
Step 9:
To garnish, you can sprinkle the rolls with a little paprika and dill. Enjoy!
- You can swap the filling in these rolls to your taste. Use fish, mushrooms, vegetables, or meat. And ground nuts work well for the coating.
- Always wash eggs before using them, since even a shell that looks clean can carry harmful bacteria. It's best to use food-safe detergent and a brush.
- It's better to make your own mayonnaise — it'll be tastier and healthier. Check out our interesting recipes for homemade mayonnaise. You can also use sour cream or plain yogurt as a dressing instead of mayonnaise, either on their own or mixed with mayonnaise in any ratio you like — this will cut down on calories.
