"Pomegranate Beads on Snow" Salad with Beef

A delicious, gorgeous holiday salad! This "Pomegranate Beads on Snow" salad with beef showed up online fairly recently — hats off to whoever came up with it! It's beautiful, bright, and festive, a real centerpiece for any table, holiday or not. It's quite hearty, so you could call it a "guys'" appetizer. If it were up to me, I'd also add a layer of finely diced sweet onion soaked in boiling water — it would make it zestier and juicier. Serve it as an appetizer, and enjoy the meal!

Cooking method

Cooking time: 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

Gather the ingredients from the list. Ahead of time, cook the beef (or pork), and boil the carrot and the eggs hard. I did all that the night before and assembled the salad in the morning.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Break open the pomegranate and separate the seeds — you'll need about half a cup.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Cut the cooked meat into small dice.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Spread it as a layer on a plate or wide dish and press it down with a spoon.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

For the next layer, add the finely diced pickles.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Grate the boiled carrot on the coarse side of a grater and add it as the next layer, then spread with mayonnaise.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Grate the hard cheese for the next layer.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Now make the "snow" from grated egg white.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9

Scatter the ruby pomegranate "beads" over the "snow." Chill the salad for an hour to an hour and a half, then serve.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10

Your "Beads on Snow" salad is ready! Enjoy!
