My General salad with chicken puff

General among the festive puff salads! The salad is widely known for a reason - it is very satisfying and delicious. I would attribute this salad to men's, because there is chicken, potatoes, onion, garlic... But women do not lag behind men either - everyone loves the General. When I cook puff salads in salad bowls, I rub the ingredients on a fine grater, so the salad is soaked better and faster. When in the forms - on a large grater, so the salad looks more beautiful, but it takes more time for impregnation - such salads are tastier in a day.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 40 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How is the General Salad made? Prepare the required products. Cook and cool eggs, potatoes, beets and carrots in advance. Before cooking, do not forget to wash them thoroughly, preferably with a brush. Peel the boiled vegetables.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Grate the beetroot on a coarse grater. If you have too juicy, almost "floats", it is better to squeeze the juice out of it, slightly squeezing it over a bowl. Before the procedure, I recommend wearing rubber gloves so as not to stain the skin of your hands. Squeeze garlic into the beetroot through a garlic press. Add salt to the beet mass, mix.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Cut the smoked chicken fillet into small cubes. In addition to smoked chicken, you can put boiled or fried in this salad.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Grate boiled chicken eggs on a coarse grater and add salt.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. You can take any cheese you want. Boiled semi-solid is best suited.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Grate boiled carrots on a coarse grater, add salt.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Chop the white onion. In order not to cry your eyes, dip the knife in cold water periodically.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Grate the boiled potatoes on a coarse grater. Add salt well. Mix it up.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Start laying out the salad in layers on a wide dish suitable for this occasion. The first layer of chicken will go with us. Brush it well with mayonnaise to make the chicken meat more juicy.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

The second layer is potatoes. Smear it with mayonnaise.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

The third layer is onion. Brush it with mayonnaise too.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

The next layer is carrots. Smear it with mayonnaise.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Put the grated cheese on top of the carrots, put a little mayonnaise on it. Then sprinkle with grated eggs + a little mayonnaise.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

Put the beetroot mixed with garlic in the last layer. Smooth the salad with a spatula.

  15. Step 15:

    Step 15.

Smear the salad with mayonnaise and put it in the refrigerator for an hour for impregnation.

  16. Step 16:

    Step 16.

Before serving to the festive table, decorate the salad General at your discretion. I just cut stars from boiled beetroot (cookie cutters) and spread them on top, adding greens.

  17. Step 17:

    Step 17.

This is how this salad looks in layers in the section - very beautiful, as for me)) Bon appetit!

Root vegetables like potatoes, beets, carrots are best washed with a brush or a stiff sponge under running water.

The cutting board will not absorb the unpleasant onion smell if you rub it with a piece of lemon before slicing.

It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See the interesting ones here recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.

Like all puff salads, the General is festive. It can be cooked in a tall salad bowl, or in a form like mine. A star-shaped salad will look original ;) The general is still))
