Spiced Lingonberry-Apple Jam with Cinnamon

An incredibly tasty jam with a gentle hint of cinnamon! I was once served pancakes with a wonderful jam, and its beautiful color and aroma gave a seemingly simple food an extraordinary flavor. I always keep a notebook on hand to jot down new recipes so I can treat my family to something new later on. When lingonberries are in season, it's hard to pass up putting these berries away for winter. That's how lingonberry-apple jam joined my collection.

  • First, make the syrup: put the sugar in a large pot and pour in the water. Bring the syrup to a boil and add the lingonberries. Bring everything back to a boil, let it cool, then boil it again. Peel and core the sweet or sweet-tart apples, then cut them into large slices. Add the apples to the lingonberries, stir in cinnamon if you like, and cook until done. Ladle the finished jam into jars and seal. The lingonberry-apple jam is ready! It has a lovely aroma and a sweet-tart flavor, and it pairs beautifully with pancakes and fritters—or you can simply spread it on a slice of bread. Enjoy!
