Creamy Pearl Barley Porridge with Milk

  • Cover the pearl barley with cold water and let it soak overnight in the refrigerator. The next day, drain it and put the barley in a pot. Add fresh water and boil the barley for 15 minutes. In a separate pot, warm the milk. Drain the barley and add the grains to the milk, along with the sugar and salt. Cook the porridge over low heat, or in a double boiler, until the grains are soft—about 30-45 minutes. At the end, stir in the butter. Serve the pearl barley porridge with fresh berries. Enjoy!
