Soy "Steak" Patties

Cooking method

    Boil the soy meat in salted boiling water, drain it in a colander, and squeeze out the excess water lightly.

    Sauté the finely chopped onion in vegetable oil until golden.

    Add the soy meat to the onion and fry for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

    Finely chop the bell pepper.

    Blend the soy meat and onion together, then mix in the finely chopped bell pepper, a little fresh parsley, the baking soda, and spices. Stir everything together and refrigerate for an hour. Then shape the mixture into patties and place them in a baking dish greased with vegetable oil.

    Bake in a 350°F (180°C) oven for 20–30 minutes, until golden brown.

    Garnish with fresh herbs to serve.

  • I really recommend trying these soy "steak" patties. They look just like ordinary meat patties, but the flavor won over my whole family — even the ones who were only so-so on soy meat! You'll also be surprised by the pleasant feeling of being light and full at the same time, since soy meat is anything but heavy. A great option for anyone observing a religious fast, or simply looking to lighten up and add variety to their meals.
