Brewing coffee on an electric stovetop is almost like brewing it in hot sand—give it a try! I've heard that a lot of people doubt whether you can make truly delicious coffee on an electric stove.

  • To make delicious coffee on an electric stove, turn the burner to full power. Pour cold water into the cezve and add the sugar and coffee. Once the burner is hot, switch it off and set the cezve on the heated surface. Wait about 10 minutes for the coffee "cap" to rise. Take the cezve off, tap it lightly against a hard surface to knock the foam back down, then repeat the rising-foam process two more times. After that, tip the foam into a cup and let the coffee rest for a minute so most of the grounds settle to the bottom. Gently fill the cup with the coffee. Enjoy!
