    1. Rinse the basmati well — keep rinsing until the water runs clear. 2. Finely chop or grate the carrot. 3. Lightly sauté the vegetables in the olive oil on the "Sauté/Fry" setting. 4. Add the rice to the slow cooker with the vegetables, add the salt, and pour in the water. 5. Close the slow cooker, set it to the "Rice" setting, and cook for 20 minutes. 6. Spoon the cooked basmati onto serving plates and sprinkle with chopped fresh herbs. Enjoy!
