- Rinse the dried apples and raisins, cover them with cold water, and set them to boil. Once boiling, add the sugar and cook for about 15 minutes over medium heat. Add a cinnamon stick to the nearly finished compote and let it steep so the flavor fully develops. Once cooled, the dried-apple compote is ready. Serve it strained or with the dried fruit still in, as you prefer. The cinnamon stick can be reused for another batch of compote or for brewing tea.
