Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
So, we take one kg of freshly frozen herring. These are four medium-sized pieces. If it's a big one, then three. Gut, remove the fillets, deshurify and rinse; cut the fillets into small pieces. We put the fish in a saucepan. A large onion is cleaned and chopped into half rings. Mix with herring. We remove it to a cool place.
Step 2:
Meanwhile, we are preparing the filling: 150 ml of water; four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar 6%; one tsp sugar; two tablespoons of salt (without a slide; if you like it saltier, take it with a slide); 0.5 tsp . mixture of black and red ground pepper; Three tbsp ketchup (I take Heinz); 125 ml of vegetable oil. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl or saucepan, put on fire and bring to a boil while stirring. Cool it down.
Step 3:
Then fill the fish with onions with this filling, cover with a lid and leave on the table for several hours (at room temperature). Then we put it in the refrigerator overnight. It is best to cook this snack in a container with a vacuum lid.
Step 4:
In the morning we try a delicious, tender herring! Bon appetit!
