  • I'm sure plenty of us have wondered what dessert to make for New Year's. Here's my recipe for a New Year's dessert — I think you'll like it. Peel the pears and cut them into cubes. Add the sugar and cranberries and simmer for 3 minutes. Let it cool, then stir in the yogurt. Put the cornflakes in a bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Mix the crushed cornflakes with the chopped walnuts. Spoon the fruit-yogurt mixture into glasses (dip the rims of the glasses in lemon juice, then in sugar first) and sprinkle with the nuts and flakes. Chill in the fridge for half an hour.
