Step 1:
Dried chicory root needs to be crushed,
Step 2:
Pour boiling water in a saucepan and stand for 15 minutes on low heat.
Step 3:
You can also take ready-made crushed chicory, but still the aroma of freshly ground root is much more pronounced and attractive. Then the broth should be removed from the stove and allowed to stand for another 5 minutes.
Step 4:
The resulting drink needs to be filtered through a fine strainer or a layer of gauze – and you're done!
Step 5:
You can pour into mugs and serve.
For therapeutic or preventive purposes, a decoction of chicory is drunk three times a day for one third of a glass. It is also good to add honey to a chicory drink.
