Cooking method
- I've loved toffee since I was a kid, and I always wondered how to make this sweet treat at home. About a week ago I finally found a recipe that worked for me and gave it a try — so let me walk you through it. Start by putting the butter, powdered sugar, and fresh honey in a small saucepan, then pour in the lukewarm milk. Stir everything together thoroughly and bring it to a boil. Once it bubbles up, lower the heat to very low and cook the mixture for about 20–25 minutes, stirring constantly the whole time. When it takes on a caramel color, your homemade toffee is ready. Grease an ice-cube tray with a little vegetable oil and spoon the mixture into each compartment, then put the tray in the freezer. After 4–6 hours, pop out the toffees, let them thaw for a minute, and serve. Enjoy!
