Pear jam for winter

Very sweet, fragrant and delicious! It will cheer you up in winter! My grandfather on my father's side has a summer cottage on which he works tirelessly. Naturally, closer to autumn, all his labors rise at once, and all the grandchildren go to reap the fruits of his efforts. My husband and I came to him at the end of August and took really huge harvests of fruit trees and shrubs. There were especially a lot of pears. As you know, they deteriorate quite quickly, so it was necessary to urgently recycle them. I decided to take full responsibility for myself and cooked a very tasty meal according to a recipe I have known for a long time, namely: pear jam for the winter.

To begin with, wash the green, hard pears in running water, remove the core from them and cut into medium-sized pieces. Put the chopped fruits in a container with acidified water and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring. Then we cool our pear mass in cold water. After that, we pour our pears with hot syrup. For the syrup, you need to mix sugar and water in which the pears were cooked. We put the pears with syrup for 6 hours in a cool place. After this time, cook again for 3-4 minutes, after that we put it back in a cool place, but for 12 hours. Repeat this scheme 2-4 more times when the pears become transparent. After that, we transfer the fruits to sterilized jars and close them with lids.
