Cooked Banana Jam
Foodies will love this one! It's original, simple, and comes together fast. I was recently browsing the internet, reading through all sorts of recipes, when I stumbled on an intriguing title — "Banana Jam." I had to try it right away, so that very evening I picked up a few pounds of bananas and got cooking. Here's how I made this little treat.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
For banana jam you'll need just bananas and sugar.
-
Step 2:
First, peel the bananas and trim off any dark tips. Then slice them into thin rounds.
-
Step 3:
Sprinkle the sliced bananas with the sugar, stir, and let sit for an hour to an hour and a half.
-
Step 4:
After that, set the banana mixture over medium heat and cook, stirring.
-
Step 5:
Bring it to a boil, then lower the heat and keep cooking until the bananas turn translucent, about 40–60 minutes, stirring constantly.
-
Step 6:
Once the jam is fully done (the bananas will look translucent), take it off the heat and let it cool a little. Then pack the banana jam tightly into pre-sterilized jars and seal with lids or process them. Give it a couple of weeks, and your banana jam is ready to taste. Enjoy — sweetly!
