Cooked Banana Jam

Foodies will love this one! It's original, simple, and comes together fast. I was recently browsing the internet, reading through all sorts of recipes, when I stumbled on an intriguing title — "Banana Jam." I had to try it right away, so that very evening I picked up a few pounds of bananas and got cooking. Here's how I made this little treat.

Cooking method

    For banana jam you'll need just bananas and sugar.

    First, peel the bananas and trim off any dark tips. Then slice them into thin rounds.

    Sprinkle the sliced bananas with the sugar, stir, and let sit for an hour to an hour and a half.

    After that, set the banana mixture over medium heat and cook, stirring.

    Bring it to a boil, then lower the heat and keep cooking until the bananas turn translucent, about 40–60 minutes, stirring constantly.

    Once the jam is fully done (the bananas will look translucent), take it off the heat and let it cool a little. Then pack the banana jam tightly into pre-sterilized jars and seal with lids or process them. Give it a couple of weeks, and your banana jam is ready to taste. Enjoy — sweetly!
