  • Planning a special romantic dinner but the only thing in the pantry is a box of pasta — and you're short on time? No problem at all. Despite the name, this "oriental" pasta is really rooted in Italian cooking. It comes together fast, it's satisfying, and you won't need a long list of dishes to pull off a memorable meal. Chances are you bought frozen shrimp, so start by thawing them. Rinse the shrimp, drop them into a pot of boiling water, bring it back to a boil, and cook for about 5 minutes. Lift them out with a slotted spoon, let them cool, peel off the shells, and chop finely. Drain the seaweed in a colander, then chop it very fine. Toss it with a little oil, season with salt, and mix it into the prepared shrimp. Blanch the tomatoes, slip off the skins, and chop finely. Grate the cheese on the fine side of a box grater. Add the tomatoes and cheese to the shrimp and seaweed and stir well to combine. Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling salted water, then drain it in a sieve. As soon as it's drained, toss it with a little oil so it doesn't stick. Gently fold the hot pasta into the shrimp-and-tomato mixture. Serve soy sauce on the side. Plate it up, garnish with fresh parsley, pour a glass of wine, add a small salad, and dinner is served. I hope your sweetheart loves it!
