Homemade Coffee-and-Chocolate Drink with Cream
Nothing warms the soul like a mug of hot chocolate. Chocolate — there's a whole world in that word. We owe a lot to South and Central America, the birthplace of both chocolate and the cacao tree. For centuries this divine drink (chocolate was consumed only in liquid form for ages) was reserved for the wealthy, since the ingredients were so costly. It wasn't until the 20th century, when cocoa and sugar dropped sharply in price, that this "food of kings" — by then both a drink and a food — became something almost anyone could enjoy. These days it's sold at every corner store, so that's exactly the easy-to-find chocolate we'll use for our hot chocolate. And the recipe couldn't be simpler — the best things usually are.

Cooking method
- Warm the milk. Bring about 2 cups (half a liter) of water to a boil. Break the chocolate bar into pieces, drop them into the water, and wait for them to melt. Pour in the hot milk, add the hot coffee, and stir until the drink is smooth and uniform. That's it! Serve in small cups, topped with whipped cream — and a few chocolates on the side, if you like. You can never have too much chocolate!
