Pumpkin Fruit Leather
Homemade candy for anyone who loves healthy food — an absolute treat!!! Pumpkin fruit leather is a pretty distinctive dessert, and one that won't leave you indifferent.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
First we need pumpkin flesh — cleaned and seeded.
-
Step 2:
Cut it the usual way, into cubes — sizable, but not too big.
-
Step 3:
Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil along with the cloves, pumpkin pieces, cinnamon, and sugar. Keep the heat moderate — not too high, not too low. As soon as the pumpkin is easily pierced with a fork, drain off the water.
-
Step 4:
Purée the pumpkin pieces in a food processor or meat grinder.
-
Step 5:
Mix the pumpkin purée with the sugar and transfer it to a clean saucepan.
-
Step 6:
Cook off the excess water in the saucepan. As it evaporates, the mixture should get thicker and thicker. Once it's very thick, stir in the vinegar until evenly distributed.
-
Step 7:
After that, all that's left is to spread it onto a baking sheet or a large cutting board and let it dry in the sun for three days. The reward for your effort is a beautiful homemade pumpkin fruit leather. You can also dry it in the oven.
