  • Once I traveled with my family by train for a whole day, then the same trip back. We had to eat something, so we brought along instant noodles. I have to say, by the second time everyone disliked them so much that when I got home I decided to try cooking them a new way — my own. It's a bit of fuss, but well worth a try! Cut the onion into quarters, then chop it finely and fry until golden. Dice the carrot and fry it with the onion. Add the ham, also cut into cubes. Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water, peel them, cut them into cubes, and add them to the onion as well. Then add the cooked beans and corn. Season with salt and cover with a lid. Meanwhile, finely chop the garlic and stir it in. Season with salt and pepper and cover again. Add the noodles to the skillet with the other ingredients and pour boiling water over everything. Cook until the noodles are done. Note that the noodles shouldn't be swimming in water — so go easy on it!
