  • This is an easy, quick, and tasty dish. It uses a handful of ingredients almost every home cook keeps on hand: liver, sour cream, onion, and salt. That's it! Rinse the liver, trim away any ducts, and cut it in half and then in half again — though how you cut it is up to you. Heat the oil in a skillet and lightly sauté the chopped onion. Add the prepared liver to the onion, sear it quickly on one side, flip, and sear the other. Add the sour cream, season with salt, cover, and simmer until done (about 5–7 minutes) — keep in mind the longer the liver cooks, the drier it gets. Serve with any side dish, or simply with bread — the sauce is so good you'll want to sop it up with a piece of bread. Delicious!
