Fried Garlic Scapes

Great summer eating! A simple, quick, and inexpensive snack — fast to make and a hit with everyone. What can I say about this dish? It's one of my favorite snacks. You get that fried-garlic flavor, the heat is however strong you like it, and these scapes are so satisfying to bite into. A real exclusive straight from your garden — definitely give it a try, you won't regret it. The taste reminds me of fried mushrooms.

  • Gather the garlic scapes, trim off the flower buds, cut them into 6-inch (15 cm) lengths, wash, and pat dry. Lay them in a skillet heated with vegetable oil. Season with salt and pepper if you like, then fry on all sides over high heat. Lower the heat, cover, and cook for another 10 minutes — the scapes should turn translucent. That's it, our appetizer is ready. Serve it to your guests and wait for the compliments!
