Canapés with Ham, Cheese, and Tomatoes

The simplest canapés from whatever's on hand — try them! The main advantage of these canapés is that the ingredients are uncomplicated and are often already in our fridges.

  • Lightly toast the baguette slices. Cut the ham, cheese, and tomatoes into slices or cubes (whichever you prefer). Build the canapés in this order: baguette, ham, tomato, cheese. If you like, add bell pepper on top. Pop them in the microwave so the cheese melts onto the canapés. Insert a skewer to make them easier to pick up. Garnish with fresh herbs. If you use bell peppers of different colors, the canapés turn out even prettier.
