Carrot, Sausage & Crouton Salad

This salad is sure to brighten up an ordinary day! It's genuinely great — comes together in no time and tastes amazing. My whole family got hooked on the crunch and keeps asking for it again and again. Best eaten right after you make it, while the croutons are still crisp.

  • Enjoy!
  • Every oil is only good up to a certain temperature — its smoke point, past which it starts to burn and form harmful compounds, including carcinogens. For how to gauge frying temperature, which oil to reach for, and which to skip entirely, see here.
  • Homemade mayonnaise is worth the effort — tastier and better for you. Check out some good homemade mayo recipes here. You can also swap in sour cream or plain yogurt for the dressing, on their own or mixed with the mayo in any ratio you like, to lighten the salad up.
