"Epaulette" Sandwiches for February 23rd

    Lay salted fatback, cut into thin slices, onto the bread shapes. Try to cut the fatback to the same shape so it doesn't hang over the edges of the bread.

    Next, lay garlic cut into thin slices over the fatback.

    Cover the fatback and garlic with another slice of sandwich bread. For decoration, cut thin strips from the carrots, and stars and buttons from the lemon peel. You can also cut the same stars from cheese and draw the stripes with ketchup, for example.
