Chicken Braised in Wine

Cooking method

    The ingredients for the recipe. Peel the onion and garlic, and wash them along with the chicken thighs (you can use other chicken parts) thoroughly. Pat the thighs dry with paper towels, rub them with a mix of salt and pepper, and let them sit for 15–30 minutes.

    Cut the onion into half-moons and slice the garlic thin.

    Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and brown the thighs on both sides until golden.

    Transfer the browned chicken thighs to a heavy-bottomed pot.

    In the same skillet you cooked the chicken in, sauté the onion until golden, add a little salt and pepper, then the garlic, and cook the onion and garlic together.

    Then sprinkle in the tablespoon of flour, stir, and cook for a minute or less, stirring constantly. Watch that the flour doesn't scorch and coats everything evenly.

    Add the spices. Cover the pot and cook over low heat for 40–45 minutes, until the chicken is done. Keep a close eye on it so the chicken and everything else doesn't scorch.
