Stuffed Pasta Shells with Ham and Meat Filling
Wondering what to make for dinner? Here's an idea — pasta shells stuffed with ham and ground meat! It's not a complicated recipe, and it turns out delicious. Better still, the filling comes together fast, because the shells are stuffed with raw ground meat that doesn't need pre-cooking. That cuts down the prep time, which is definitely a big plus. You can use store-bought ground meat, but homemade is in a league of its own! You'll need an oven-safe baking dish, ideally one with a well-fitting lid.

- Pour water into a pot (about 2–2.5 quarts / liters) and set it over the heat. Bring the water to a boil and salt it. 2. Add the pasta shells to the boiling water and cook for seven minutes. 3. Then drain them in a colander. If you boil the shells an hour or a few hours ahead of time, cover them with foil so they don't dry out. 4. Rinse the pork and pat it dry with paper towels. Cut the pork into cubes — the size doesn't really matter — then run the meat through a grinder. 5. Add a tablespoon of water to the ground meat and mix. It's easiest to mix the meat by hand, wearing a disposable food-safe glove. 6. Dice the ham into small cubes and add it to the meat. 7. Rinse the green onion under running water, pat it dry, and chop it finely. 8. Add half of the cream, the chopped onion, and salt and pepper to taste to the meat. Season with dried basil and oregano, then mix again. 9. Fill the pasta shells with the stuffing and arrange them in the greased baking dish. Pour the remaining cream over the top. 10. Cover the dish with its lid and place it in an oven preheated to 400°F (200°C). 11. Bake for 20–25 minutes. Then remove the lid and let the dish brown for 10 minutes. Serve right after cooking. If you like, sprinkle the dish with chopped green onion. It's also great with a fresh vegetable salad or grilled vegetables. Enjoy — dig in!
