Classic Caprese Salad with Mozzarella
This salad is very elegant and bright - perfect for a holiday table. Among all the cheese salads, my favorites are the ones with mozzarella or burrata. This cheese is so delicate in taste and texture that salads made with it turn out simply incredible.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather the ingredients.
-
Step 2:
Wash the tomatoes, dry them, and cut them into thin rounds.
-
Step 3:
Take the mozzarella ball out of the brine, dry it, and cut it into thin slices. The thinner you slice it, the tastier the salad will be. Thin slicing really matters a lot for this salad.
-
Step 4:
On a plate, lay out the tomato rounds, mozzarella slices, and basil leaves, overlapping and alternating them. You can arrange them the way I did, or in a circle.
-
Step 5:
Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Instead of plain vinegar, I recommend using a balsamic glaze - it's more syrupy in consistency and milder in taste. Salt and pepper it.
