Smoothie (from the English "smoothie") means smooth, smooth, calm. This cocktail came to us from the USA, and there in turn from Brazil. The tradition of grinding fruits and making delicious soft drinks from them existed in many countries, especially with a tropical climate. Smoothie is a delicious, healthy, dietary and at the same time satisfying cocktail. Now it has become fashionable to cook it. It resembles drinking yogurt, but thicker than usual. Translated from English means soft, gentle, homogeneous. It originates in America. It first appeared in the so-called Juice Bars in 1920. At first, smoothies were drunk only freshly prepared, but then it began to appear in stores. Gradually gained huge popularity in many countries.

Today smoothies are a symbol of people who care about their health. Many healthy food restaurants offer fruit smoothies. The composition of the drink may include soy milk, herbal teas, dried algae and other useful additives. Healthy smoothies are easy to make at home, having mastered simple rules.

Smoothies are often made from frozen fruits. Frozen pineapples, mangoes or bananas are perfect. You will always have the necessary ingredients in the freezer. Sometimes it is advised to add ice when mixing smoothies, but it is better not to do this. Ice will add wateriness and dilute the fruity aroma. It is better to use a few pieces of frozen fruit.

Water is rarely added to smoothies. Instead of water, it is better to use one of your favorite juices. Do not add sugar to smoothies. Smoothies are a healthy drink. In the best case, use ripe sweet fruits. Instead of milk, it is better to use plain yogurt as a thickener. A smoothie is not a milkshake! If you still use milk, then do not mix it with citrus fruits!
