Cooking method
For this simple and at the same time delicious dish, you will need white bread or a loaf. Instead of a loaf or white bread, you can basically take any other bread to your taste and desire - with bran or special toast bread. It is very convenient to use a sliced loaf or bread for this dish. In this case, the croutons are obtained of equal thickness and look more beautiful. If the bread is not cut, then in this case it must be cut into rather thin slices, about 1 cm thick.
In a separate bowl, break the chicken eggs. Add sugar and a little salt. Salt is added for a more balanced taste of the future dish. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with a hand-held cooking whisk or mixer. It is necessary that the sugar and salt are completely dissolved in the egg mixture.
Next, pour a little milk at room temperature into the already beaten egg mixture along with spices. Mix the milk and eggs well together again.
Put a frying pan with a thick bottom on medium heat, pour a little vegetable oil and heat it to the maximum temperature.
Take a piece of a loaf and dip it in a bowl with a milk-egg mixture with one side and the other. And then put the bread in a preheated frying pan. Fry the bread on one side for a couple of minutes until golden brown, and then turn it over on the other.
Do the same with each piece of bread or loaf.
Transfer the croutons fried on both sides to a plate previously covered with paper napkins so that excess vegetable oil is absorbed.
Ready-made sweet croutons from white bread or loaf to serve immediately hot together with freshly brewed tea or fragrant coffee! This is the perfect start to the day!
And croutons can be served to children with warm milk or cocoa. Small households will surely appreciate such a delicious and unusual breakfast.
Bon appetit!
