Potato and Meat Kolduny

Cooking method

    Gather your ingredients. Peel the potatoes.

    Grate the potatoes on a medium grater and, before they darken, squeeze out the excess liquid.

    Add the egg, salt, and pepper to the potatoes.

    Add the cornstarch.

    Mix well.

    Press a clove of garlic into the ground pork and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.

    If the potatoes still released a lot of liquid and the mixture is runny, stir in a spoonful of flour.

    Pour oil into a skillet and heat it slightly.

    Spoon out flat rounds of the potato mixture.

    Top each potato round with a patty of the meat filling.

    Cover with another layer of potato. Cover with a lid and fry for 5 minutes over medium heat. On an electric stove, turn the heat to the lowest setting and cook until the bottom potato layer is golden.

    Flip the kolduny over and fry, covered, over low heat for another 10 minutes.

    Once the kolduny are golden and the meat inside is cooked through, transfer them to a plate.
