Cooking method
Cut the bacon into strips and fry over high heat until crisp.
Add sugar to the bacon and simmer for half a minute.
Finely chop the onion and spread it to the bacon. Simmer for about four minutes.
Peel the apple and cut into small cubes.
The cabbage head is cleaned from the upper leaves, shredded.
Add apple slices and chopped cabbage to bacon and onion.
Pour vinegar over the cabbage, add spices and salt. Then pour the broth prepared in advance.
Simmer the total mass for at least 40 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly.
To give the dish a sweet and sour taste, you can add half a cup of berry jam from some sour berry five minutes before it is ready.
