Hussar-Style Pan-Fried Meat
Loads of tender, juicy meat and nothing to distract from it! This dish is called "hussar-style meat" for a reason — it's all meat, with no side dish to get in the way. And what more could a hussar — or any hungry man — want than a big helping of good meat? So make it whenever you want to treat the men in your life. It comes together very simply and turns out delicious.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Prep the ingredients.
-
Step 2:
Thaw the meat, rinse it, and cut it into small pieces. If you're not a fan of pork, feel free to use beef instead — it works just as well.
-
Step 3:
Use a large, juicy onion and slice it into half-rings; grate the carrots on the coarse side of a box grater.
-
Step 4:
Finely mince the garlic. In a bowl, combine the meat and vegetables, add the tomato paste, vinegar, and salt, and stir to coat.
-
Step 5:
Refrigerate the bowl for 1 hour so the meat marinates well.
-
Step 6:
In heated vegetable oil, fry the meat and vegetables for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the water and starch, stir, and simmer, covered, over low heat for about another 10 minutes.
-
Step 7:
Serve with fresh parsley or any other herbs you like. Enjoy!
