Cooking method

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

    Prepare the ingredients.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Thaw and rinse the shrimp. It's best to use shrimp that haven't been thawed before. You can tell easily: shrimp that have already been thawed and refrozen usually have broken-off antennae and legs and a not-so-pleasant smell.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

    Coarsely chop the green onion.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Coarsely chop the parsley and dill.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

    Grate the celery root.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Squeeze the juice from half a lemon.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Heat a skillet and add the oil. Use only olive oil — it tastes better that way.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Add the herbs to the heated oil.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9

Over high heat, sweat the herbs for 1–2 minutes. Watch closely so they don't burn — scorched herbs will ruin the whole flavor. DON'T FRY THEM!

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10

Pour a bottle of light lager over the herbs. Don't pour it all in — leave one sip in the bottle and be sure to drink it, or the dish might not turn out ;)

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11

    Add the salt.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12

    Add the celery root.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13

    Add the soy sauce.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14

Stir everything well and bring to a boil.

  15. Step 15:

    Step 15

Once the beer comes to a boil, add the shrimp.

  16. Step 16:

    Step 16

Cover with a lid. Cook over high heat for 3–4 minutes once it returns to a boil. Overcook them and the shrimp will turn mushy and fall apart.

  17. Step 17:

    Step 17

When it's done, tip everything into a bowl and let it cool a little. Grab a beer, bring your good mood to the table, and relax. Enjoy!
