Salad with Bulgarian Feta, Tomatoes, Peppers and Cucumbers

A great light appetizer the whole family will love! Brynza (feta) is a cheese made from sheep's milk. It's popular in Romanian, Moldovan and Bulgarian cuisines. It's pale yellow or white in color, with a tangy, slightly salty taste, and it looks rather like cottage cheese. This cheese is often used in salads. It contains a range of vitamins, beneficial minerals and salts, as well as protein, which everyone needs. Feta is commonly added to all sorts of dishes — as a filling for pies, in soups, and with vegetable and meat dishes. But it's especially good in salads. In this recipe you'll learn how to make a feta salad with tomatoes and peppers. It takes just a few minutes. Just give it a try!

  • To start, crumble the Bulgarian feta very finely, slice the tomatoes into rounds, cut the sweet and green peppers into rings and the cucumbers into cubes, crush the garlic, and chop the herbs very finely. Then simply mix these ingredients together and dress with sour cream. And there you have it — a fabulous way to put Bulgarian feta to use with tomatoes and peppers. It's ready! Feta can also be enjoyed on its own as an appetizer. Dry wine pairs perfectly with feta dishes.
