Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
That's all the ingredients you'll need to cook the king prawns. Most likely, you, like me, have boiled-frozen shrimp, although there are also those that were frozen raw. They differ in color. If the shrimp have a bright pink color, it means that before being frozen, they were subjected to heat treatment. If the shrimps are gray-green, it means that they were frozen without processing. The cooking time of the shrimp depends on this
Step 2:
First of all, we put a large pot of water on the stove and bring it to a boil, the ratio of shrimp and water is at least 1:2. When the water boils, add salt - do not worry, we will need quite a lot of it - we need 40-45 g of salt for 1 liter of water. If you have already peeled shrimp, the amount of salt should be halved
Step 3:
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon directly into the pan, then cut it into 4 parts and put it here
Step 4:
Add bay leaf - it goes perfectly with the taste of shrimp
Step 5:
Add other dry spices - cloves, allspice and black pepper, they will be very useful here
Step 6:
Add sprigs of parsley or dill, you can take both dry parsley and dill, and herbs, the aroma of dried and fresh herbs is somewhat different. The set of spices is quite conditional, you can use the ones I suggested, or you can add, for example, garlic, onion, a special set of spices for seafood or other spices to your liking
Step 7:
We bring the water to a boil again, and while the water boils, we get rid of the ice shell. Very often, shrimp are sent to the pan directly with it, but this is a common mistake. the fastest way to do this is simply to rinse them under a stream of warm water - so we get rid of excess dirt, broken antennae and paws, as well as ice. After that, we put the prepared shrimp in a saucepan
Step 8:
Cook the king prawns from boiling for about 5 minutes, if you have quite large prawns, you will need 7 minutes. Freshly frozen shrimps with a gray-green tint should be cooked for 8-10 minutes, and if your shrimps are already peeled, only 2-3 minutes will be enough
Step 9:
Pour lemon juice over the finished fragrant shrimps or mix lemon juice with olive oil and dip the peeled shrimps in it, a sauce of low-fat sour cream with garlic and herbs, or a mixture of ketchup with mayonnaise is also perfect
Step 10:
Bon appetit!
