Pan-Fried Butter Waffles

Craving crispy waffles but don't have a waffle iron? Make them right in a skillet! It's easy, quick, and the result is amazing — a sweet treat for afternoon tea or your morning coffee. I also whip these up when my kid brings friends home from school and there's nothing sweet in the house. Everyone is always happy to sit down to tea with homemade waffles.

    1. Crack the eggs into a bowl. 2. Add the sugar and beat everything together until foamy and increased in volume. 3. Melt the butter (on the stove or in the microwave), pour it into the egg-and-sugar mixture, and stir. 4. Sift in the flour. Add it to the bowl a little at a time and knead into a fairly stiff dough. 5. Heat a skillet. Brush the hot pan with vegetable oil. 6. Drop the batter onto the pan — about 1 tablespoon per waffle. Spread it thin so the waffle comes out crisp. 7. Once the underside is golden, flip and fry the other side. Each side takes about 20 seconds. Serve the waffles with syrup, condensed milk, or just as they are — they're delicious! Enjoy your tea!
