Cooking method
- This recipe lets you make wonderfully tasty meat that your whole family will happily dig into. Home-style fried pork is a dish I picked up while visiting friends in Belarus. It was so good that I wrote down the recipe on the spot. First, we make the sauce. Peel an onion and cut it into half-rings. Sauté it in vegetable oil, dust it with flour, and let it brown lightly. Then pour in the broth, stir well, and add the sour cream. Simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes. Now for the main event. Cut the pork into slices about 1/2 inch (1 cm) thick, season with salt and pepper, and lay them in a well-heated skillet. Fry for no more than 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Then pour the sauce over the browned meat, lower the heat a bit, and cook for another 15–20 minutes. This dish is best with boiled or mashed potatoes (naturally — it's a Belarusian dish, after all). Enjoy!
