Homemade Banana and Milk Ice Cream
The simplest, budget-friendly ice cream - even a child can make it! Homemade banana and milk ice cream is made from just two ingredients: milk and frozen bananas. The result is a refreshing, invigorating ice cream with no added fat or sugar, one hundred percent natural.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you make homemade banana and milk ice cream? Prepare the ingredients. Choose ripe, firm bananas. Be sure to wash them before peeling. Then cut them into small pieces (bananas and milk are usually used in a 2:1 ratio - two parts peeled banana to one part milk - but you can adjust the proportions to your taste).
-
Step 2:
Put the cut bananas in a container and freeze them for at least three hours, preferably overnight. You don't have to use a container - you can put the banana slices in a bag in a single layer, so they freeze faster and don't stick together.
-
Step 3:
When the time is up, take the bananas out of the freezer and, without thawing, put them in a blender. Add the milk. You can add vanillin to taste.
-
Step 4:
Blend the bananas with the milk for 2-3 minutes until smooth. You can eat the ice cream as is at this point, or freeze it a bit more - that's up to you. I chose to freeze it.
-
Step 5:
Put the mixture in a container and freeze it for a couple of hours. When the time is up, take out the ice cream, divide it into portions, and decorate it however you like. I decorated mine with mint leaves, ground roasted peanuts, and crushed dark chocolate. All of it together is delicious and good for you! Enjoy!
- I really love recipes where all the ingredients are wholesome, with no excess fat or sugar and no unhealthy processing - and when the result is a delicious dish too, that's doubly nice! You can use any milk: almond, coconut, or lactose-free. The ice cream comes out moderately sweet; to my taste, no sugar is needed - the banana's sweetness is enough. Want it sweeter? Choose very ripe bananas. Want it richer? Replace the milk with cream. But to my taste, nothing needs changing. I'll definitely make this ice cream again. I want to experiment by adding some strawberries or raspberries to the bananas. In short, I recommend it to everyone! Delicious ice cream with no extra calories and no harm to your health or figure! It invigorates and refreshes - just what you need on a hot summer day! And it doesn't take much time to make.
- It's very handy to label packages of homemade frozen food with what's frozen and when (write in pencil, since pen ink can run). That way you'll know the shelf life for sure and can easily find what you need in a full freezer.
- Keep in mind that properly thawing the ingredients has a big effect on the quality and taste of the finished dish. To avoid mistakes and choose the best method, read the article on thawing.
