- Make a thin batter by simply mixing together the flour, egg, yeast (dissolved in a little warm water), a pinch of salt, and olive oil. Add the wine and a little water so the batter is fairly runny. Let it rest for an hour. Peel and core the apples, cut them into rings about 4 mm thick, and dip them into the batter for a few minutes. Fry in oil and sprinkle with granulated or powdered sugar.
