Crostini

A recipe for special guests! Incredibly easy and wildly delicious! Making crostini in the morning with something tasty on top is just so Italian. What I love about this recipe is the room it leaves for your imagination — you can swap the salmon for a chilled slice of roast pork (bujenina), or the butter for pâté, and, surprisingly, it all comes out wonderfully good! This is my own recipe. In Italy, crostini is a very creative dish. Like pizza, it has no single set recipe — every cook tries to improve on the existing versions and give them their own flavor and presentation. What stays the same is the toasted slices of white bread, topped with all kinds of fillings.
