  • Since growing your own mushrooms at home has become popular lately (oyster mushrooms, for instance), I'd like to share this wonderful mushroom recipe that's great for a party. In this salad, the ham, cheese, and tomatoes are either diced or grated, depending on how you plan to present it. For example, you can stuff the salad into hollowed-out tomatoes, in which case it's best to grate all the ingredients. If you'd rather serve it in a bowl, cut everything into cubes, including the tomatoes. I don't know about you, but I always parboil my mushrooms before cooking — the recipe doesn't call for it, but I wanted to mention it just in case. Then chop the mushrooms well and fry them in vegetable oil until fully cooked; let them cool. Dice the soft cheese the same way as the ham. Now combine everything: mushrooms, cheese, and ham, and press the garlic in. Mix well. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes and add them to the salad. Season with salt, fold in the mayonnaise, and transfer to a serving bowl. (You can arrange it nicely on lettuce leaves and garnish the edges with tomato slices.)
