- Chinese-style chicken with pineapple is a delicious, nourishing dish — try my recipe and you won't be disappointed. First make the marinade: finely chop and combine the herbs with a teaspoon of cornstarch, a teaspoon of vegetable oil, salt, and black pepper. Bone the chicken, cut it into strips, and toss it with the green marinade, making sure the meat is well coated. Pour the remaining vegetable oil into a skillet or wok and add the chicken. Stir-fry it for a few minutes, then add the pineapple and asparagus pieces. Keep everything cooking together over low heat. Now make the sauce: in a bowl, combine the rest of the cornstarch, the juice from the pineapple, the ground ginger, and the chicken broth. Stir in the dessert wine, soy sauce, salt, and pepper, then pour the sauce over the chicken. Your Chinese-style chicken with pineapple is ready to serve. In China, this dish is most often served with rice.
