Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Wash the new potatoes thoroughly with a sponge or brush, then rinse under running water, dry with a kitchen towel or paper napkins. In order for potatoes to bake evenly in the oven, it is better to choose tubers of the same size. Cut each potato into 4 slices.
Step 2:
Prepare the sauce. Wash the tomato, cut it into two parts. Grate each half on a coarse grater. Throw away the skin.
Step 3:
Add a pinch of salt, olive oil, dried basil or oregano, a little ground pepper and dry garlic to the tomato. Mix everything very well. At this stage, you can add your favorite seasonings, adjust their amount to your taste.
Step 4:
Dip each potato slice in tomato sauce. Or for convenience, you can put the potatoes in a cellophane bag, add tomato sauce, and then mix everything in a bag, shifting from one hand to the other. You should not leave the potatoes to marinate, you need to cook right away.
Step 5:
Cover the sheet with baking paper or grease the baking dish well with vegetable oil using a silicone brush. Put the potato slices on the side with the cut down so that the fragrant skin is on top (as in the photo).
Step 6:
Cover the sheet with foil and send it to the preheated oven. Bake at a temperature of 180-200 degrees, the mode "top-bottom" for about 20 minutes.
Step 7:
Next, remove the foil, change the oven mode to "convection" or "grill" in order to form ruddy sides on potatoes. Bake for about 20-25 minutes more (cooking time may increase or decrease on the contrary, it depends on the possibility of your oven). The readiness of potatoes can be checked with a toothpick.
Step 8:
Sprinkle the finished slices with allspice and herbs if desired.
New potatoes contain a lot of useful vitamins and trace elements. Most of them are contained in a thin peel.
Baked potatoes will serve as an excellent addition to cutlets or meat.
Is excellent as an independent dish and is very good hot and cold.
Bon appetit!
