Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make a Whoopi Pie cake? Prepare all the necessary products according to the list. Remove the oil from the refrigerator in advance and leave at room temperature. It should become soft and pliable.
Step 2:
Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and baking powder through a sieve. Mix the mass.
Step 3:
Send the softened butter to a deep container. Add sugar and a pinch of salt. Beat everything with a mixer.
Step 4:
Beat one egg at a time, continuing to beat the mass with a mixer.
Step 5:
Gradually pour in the milk and continue whipping.
Step 6:
In portions, start pouring the flour with cocoa into the butter mixture. Stir with a spatula or spoon until smooth. Keep in mind that you may have more or less flour, so focus on the consistency of the dough.
Step 7:
Pour in hot water and mix again until smooth.
Step 8:
This is how the finished dough looks.
Step 9:
To decorate the cake, we will need several Whoopi Pie cakes. To do this, send a small amount of dough into a cooking bag. Make 6 round blanks with a diameter of 4-5 cm. Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven and bake at 180-200 degrees for about 10 minutes.
Step 10:
Check the baking readiness with a wooden toothpick.
Step 11:
Divide the rest of the dough into three equal parts. Cover the bottom of the mold (22 cm.) with parchment paper. Lay out one part of the dough, flatten it and send it to a hot oven. Bake for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees. Determine the exact time and temperature of baking according to your oven.
Step 12:
Check the readiness of the cake with a wooden skewer. Similarly, bake the remaining two parts of the dough. Cool the cakes completely, if necessary, cut off the tops so that the surface is even. Be careful, the cakes are very tender and can crumble if you do not act carefully.
Step 13:
Prepare all the products needed for the cream.
Step 14:
Pour the cooled cream into a deep container, add sugar (if desired, add 1 tsp vanilla sugar as well) and whisk until peaks appear (until traces of the whisk remain on the surface of the whipped cream).
Step 15:
Add sour cream and mix everything with a silicone spatula or spoon.
Step 16:
Make an impregnation of water and sugar. Put the first cake on a flat surface, soak it with sweet syrup. Send the cream to a cooking bag with a nozzle. Apply a part of the cream in a circle, as in the photo.
Step 17:
Next, spread the cream over the surface of the cake in the form of a spiral.
Step 18:
Put the second cake on top, soak it with syrup and similarly lubricate with cream. Do the same with the last cake. Align the cream on the surface. Send the cake to the refrigerator for at least 4 hours (can be overnight).
Step 19:
When assembling a cake, you can use a cooking bag without a nozzle, it turns out no less spectacular result. The top cake is allowed not to lubricate with cream, but immediately pour chocolate glaze.
Step 20:
Make Whoopi Pie cakes, to do this, connect two (previously baked) circles with cream. Send it to the refrigerator.
Step 21:
Prepare the icing for the cake. To do this, melt the chocolate slices and butter in a water bath. Stir to a single mass.
Step 22:
Pour in the hot cream (they can be heated in the microwave). Remove from the stove and stir well until the glaze is obtained.
Step 23:
Cool the icing to room temperature, apply to the top of the cake and smooth it out.
Step 24:
Whoopi Pie cakes cut into two parts in any order.
Step 25:
Decorate the cake with cake halves until the icing is frozen.
Step 26:
If desired, decorate with chocolate chips and other sweets as well.
Step 27:
Done! You can serve!
Enjoy your meal!
Be prepared for the fact that flour may need more or less than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
How to whip cream properly? It is important that the cream is fat, at least 33%. The whipping dishes and the cream themselves should be cold, keep them in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours. Beat with a mixer at minimum speed, gradually increasing the speed. How do I know if the cream is whipped enough? The creamy mass should retain its shape and not spread. At this point, stop whipping. Otherwise, the cream will turn into butter.
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
